Living in the wild
The magic of owning a vacant stand in the wild is that you can create your own wildlife bush home the way you want it to be. The size of a typical stand in Marloth Park can vary from approximately 1500 sq meters and some stands are well over 2000 sq meters and as for Sabiepark is concerned they are even larger and about ± 1 ha in extent. And the premium riverfront stands in Mjejane Game Reserve with awesome views of the Crocodile River and Kruger National Park are 1300 sq meters, the game reserve stands away from the Crocodile River 1500 sq meter and the so called corporate lodge stands 1 hectare.
As by proclamation laws, no fences may be erected between the properties, the wildlife roam around freely and it would not be uncommon to find a zebra or giraffe walking up to you. The breathtaking natural bushveld offers you the sense of freedom, of expectations and tranquillity.
As you travel from one end of the area to another you will notice how the bush changes and depending upon your preference whether it be savannah or thick African bush the choice is yours for the taking. You will find very thick dense bush in one area, low grass and scanty trees and places where the land is virtually flat with small bushes here and there and in other areas where the trees are very large and some of them as old as 200 years.
The individual stands are not always clearly marked and the surveyor's pegs dividing the different stands are sometimes hidden far under the soil and bush, it can be a mission to find them, but once they are found you realize that each and every stand has been carefully planned. The greenbelt or parkland that lies in between the individual stands is where no one may build upon and this allows the animals to have plenty of grazing. The stands adjoin these greenbelts areas are the ones mostly sought after.
In these modern times, a house in the bush would consist of the following attributes. Well constructed from durable good quality face bricks, a thatched roof for that very special bush atmosphere and in many cases could feature to be a double storey. If double storey, it will also in all probability have a wooded deck extending from the house on the first floor in order to and without any disturbance whatsoever view passing by wild animals which will obliviously unlikely know about your presence due to your height above them as they cannot pick up your smell.
The average bush home could turn out to be a comfortable home away from home to rest and relax on the balcony and watch the passing game as they trim the trees and lawns surrounding the house and may have the following indoor lavishly styled facilities:
Some technical Information:
- You are allowed to drill a borehole on the premises
- Your may build a house anywhere on the premises, 5 meters away from any of it's borders,
(Called the building line) however you may be asked in order to preserve age old trees to
select another area as the one you have chosen
- Each stand already has a clean drinkable water connection on the street boundary
- Electricity supply needs to be applied for at the Municipality
Clearly owning a vacant stand in Marloth Park, Sabiepark and Mjejane Game Reserve is like owning a peace of African heritage in the famous Kruger National Park.
