Bush Chalet

A bush chalet in the South African context unlike it's European counterpart is an accommodation facility located in a wildlife nature resort such as Marloth Park offering dedicated self catering facilities which is located and de-signed to optimize the feeling of being closely in touch with nature and the building style features natural materi-als such as wood, stone, thatch and normally forms part of other cluster units of similar structure in close prox-imity to each other, featuring a fully equipped kitchen to cater for a maximum number of people to be accommo-dated (Including fridge, stove, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils and cleaning equipment). The kitchen is for the exclusive use of the guests and is not shared by other chalets.

Most chalets also have their own braai area (Barbeque) splash pool, parking bay or dedicated open parking area. The establishment is normally sold as an entity (All units together) and the investor in most instances could benefit by letting the individual chalets out for commercial use and subsequently thereby generate an income.

•      Many clusters of Bush Chalets may also have communal kitchen facilities,
       braai areas, conference facili-ties, swimming pool, lapa and sundeck
•      It should also be noted that no dedicated chalet services are rendered as
       the emphases is based on self catering, however owners may consent that 
       approved local labour activities may be sought by visitors
